I hit the local golf pond with my son tonight and we pulled in about 15. The biggest being a 4#'er my 8 y/o caught. I was great to be out, and it's game on from here on in. Go get'em boys.

Hallsey and I are on deck. Just waiting to get the call. We're ready to wear out those clicker counters.

Bob R. and John C. kicked some smallie butt. 75 in total, it was very slow and very cold, so cold the guides on the fishing poles were icing up. The bass are still off a little, a few more days and the numbers game will began. :headbang:

Awesome!! What section of the Mohawk, and what kind of baits where you using? If you don't mind me asking.
Went out Saturday for a couple hours. Was windy, but was nice to get the lines wet. Had something big follow lure up to the boat, but that was it.
Any word on these pike/pickeral/walleye tourny's??

They're not on the mohawk river, he's speaking of the st. lawrence And the St regis/Mohawk reservation. The big girl smallies (4,5,6,7lbrs)are starting to move shallow. Once that happens we've set a goal to film a 1000 fish day between 3-4 boats,we were able to do 2-300 fish days per boat last year. So fingers crossed we can make it happen. And if you're fishing the mohawk right now, Jig,tube, and jerkbait, leave the rest home no need for em.

Thanks Gerry....By the way...I lost your number. Shoot me a text if you still have mine. Plan on doing your club again and was just wondering if you still had my info from 2009. No big deal, just trying to get some stuff in order.

Thanks
Matt

What kind of jigs? Grub jigs, swim jigs, spoon jigs? I would assume small downsized ones.

Finesse jigs,or spidergrubs tubes fine too. 1/4- 3/8. 1-5 ft deep in the eddys or backwaters. Suspending jerkbait, work em' slow, too fast and you won't get bit. That's my good deed tip for the season. LOL

Last spring, two wks after Jerry and the boys were up here, we fished 2 boats,6 guys and hammered 549 smallies in one day. What an amazing day we had. That trip is what gave me the ideal of a 1000 smallies in one day. :headbang:
